Yung Me Morris, Seminary Intern

Yung Me Suh Morris is an MDiv student at San Francisco Theological Seminary and a graduate of Wheaton College, where she received her BA in Christian Education, Biblical Studies and Psychology in 1991 and her MA in Christian Education in 1993.

While obtaining her degrees at Wheaton, she remained active in children’s ministries and para-church youth ministries in the Korean American church. She has held several positions in both Korean American and PCUSA churches as Director of Youth Ministries. Yung Me took a year out of college to volunteer as a counselor at a Christian commune called His Mansion in New Hampshire where she was part of a team that ministered to troubled young adults from various addictions and walks of life.

After her MA, Yung Me worked and climbed the corporate ladder until she heard God calling her to consider seminary. Her seminary journey, which began in 2001, took a few detours that has extended her time at SFTS. One baby and two employment layoffs left a gap of 7 years. But “the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable” Romans 11:29, so she continues where she has heard God calling her to go.

Yung Me is a Korean American born in South Korea and raised in Chicago. Yung Me is familiar with the challenges of balancing two worlds, two languages and multiple religious traditions. She lives in Pleasant Hill, CA with her husband, Morgan and daughter, Melissa.
