A baptism inside a church, with a group of people gathered. The church has wooden and stone architecture, including a large wooden cross and a smaller cross with flowers. Two screens display the word 'Baptism.' The congregation is seated on wooden pews, and some individuals are standing at the front, where a man is holding a baby during the baptism.

You’re Invited to Church

Everyone at church has had a “first Sunday” experience, and we want yours to be as welcoming and friendly as possible. The information below will help you plan your visit to St. Luke.

We invite you to join us for worship on Sundays at 10 am, in person or online.

Where is St. Luke located?

10 Bayview Drive
San Rafael, CA 94901

St. Luke Presbyterian Church is tucked in the neighborhood off of South San Pedro Road. If you’re coming from 101, Bayview Drive is the first left turn after Andy’s Market. When you drive up the driveway, you will find a parking lot with plenty of parking (and a great view!).

What is church like?

We gather for Sunday worship in person and online at 10am. Pastor Andrew will greet you at the entrance to the sanctuary before worship begins.

During worship, you will hear both contemporary and traditional songs. You will see and hear children, including a special area in the sanctuary created for them. Pastor Andrew will preach on scripture about how Biblical stories and God’s love fit into our world today. There’s a good chance you will be challenged theologically. You will experience a welcoming and inclusive form of progressive Christianity. On the first Sunday of the month, you will be offered communion. On any given Sunday, you will laugh, pause and reflect, breathe, and experience hope.

The church is equipped with a hearing-assist system. If you need a receiver, please ask.

After worship, there will be coffee and treats and we hope you stay to get to know the St. Luke community better.

Is there something for kids?

Yes! Children are always welcome, and you’ll find a special kids area on the left side of the sanctuary.

The kids are invited to participate in the first half of the service. Following the Young at Heart moment (where Pastor Andrew has been known to juggle, play games, and tell interactive stories), the children are invited to go downstairs with Carly to explore the scripture story then play and get to know one another. If it’s the first Sunday of the month, children are invited to stay in worship.
